X8i is AWS’s newest high-memory EC2 family, designed for SAP HANA, large databases, analytics, and EDA. It uses custom Intel Xeon 6 processors and scales up to 6 TB of memory with very high memory bandwidth. It is generally available as of Jan 15, 2026, with no announced retirement.
